We got the call at 6 am, that Ryan will be transferred to Sick Kids today at 8 am for his PDA ligation (the surgery to close his duct).  There are still a few pieces of the puzzle that need to come together.  He'll be switched to conventional ventilation, once at Sick Kids he needs blood work and another Echo.  If all these things go well, he'll have the surgery later today.  From what we've been told, this is a very common and 'simple' surgery.  But, as with all surgery, there are risks.  I'm happy that we have the option to have the surgery because it gives him a  really good chance to do well.  We're worried though. Obviously.  Will update either later today or tomorrow depending on when we get home.
